Ark Avilon in Pasig is the only indoor interactive zoo in the Philippines. It resembles the setting of the biblical Noah’s Ark.
Once you enter the premises, you’ll be greeted by different birds (that you can hold!), snake, and my favorite – Jenny, the Bornean Orangutan.
I became giddy because when Jenny saw me, she approached me and held my hand! (Akala siguro Diwata ako! Wahahaha! Oh no, diwata ng mga Orangutan!!! No thanks!) But seriously, she is just so cute! She’s wearing sando, shorts, and crocs (sosyal)!
Another highlight of my visit in Ark Avilon is Tyson, the Burmese Python. At first I was hesitant to hold him because he is a sssssnnnnaaakkkeeee!!! However, when I saw some people who were horrified as they held Tyson and saw how they looked like in pictures, nilakasan ko talaga loob ko para maganda naman itsura ko sa picture! Hahaha! 🙂 See the picture with my ‘pilit smile’ above? I tried my best to smile even though I could feel the snake crawling on my legs… eeeeekkkk!
Just a tip…
If you plan to visit Ark Avilon Zoo and you still have an appointment afterwards, I advise that you bring extra clothes. Oh, that day was so memorable! After enjoying the zoo, I accidentally met important people afterwards and I smelled like “animal”! Oh no! Panira ng poise! I am tempted to give each of them some masks so they won’t smell my diwata scent! hahaha! 🙂
Other than that, I really enjoyed interacting with different animals in Ark Avilon Zoo!
